Nearly all images in ½ resolution, cropped & normalized
|
Processing:
All these pictures are cropped to 1024x1024 pixels with sun (or moon) appearing roughly centered. After that procedure they were normalized, i.e. darkest pixel is set to black and brightest pixel is set to white. In between these values a linear gradation applies (until now). Finally (since we had quite changing cloud cover) most pictures were enhanced individually by setting appropriate gamma corrections values. Some pictures (the most difficult ones) are even corrected by applying histogram "bendings". And for publication on this website they were downsized to 512x512 pixels (½ resolution). Artefacts: In the sequence there are some pictures with a granulated background. This artefact stems from a too short exposure time and comes to view by the normalizing process: You'll see here the detector's quantum noise :-( Bonus goodies: To view a GIF animation of all these pictures click HERE. It's still a not yet fully completed raw version. File size is ~37.8 MB and frame size is 960x768 pixels, i.e. 1/2 of full resolution! All relevant data of all pictures can be spotted in THIS table. Howto: Click to thumbnail for viewing the full resolution version! Size of one picture varies from ~0.3 MB up to >3 MB, depending on content. Frame sizes are cropped to 1920x1536 pixels. When the full sized image is displayed You may save it to Your disk because now it's already in Your browser's local cache. For saving to disk, please follow the procedures of Your favourite browser. Going back after viewing full resolution version is handled by browser's back button. For viewing of downloaded files You may use any common image viewing software which can handle JPEG coded images. |
