Video of Total Solar Eclipse July 11th 2010
(in form of GIF animations, without sound)
Part 11 of 11 - "The vast Pacific in Penumbra"

Content:
This video of Total Solar Eclipse 2010 consists of frames 10000 ... 10400 (out of 10400) shot by the co-author by a Panasonic HDC SD707 high definition video camera.

It's a preliminary version with 1/3 of original resolution.

Processing:
All frames of this video were extracted as JPEGs from the original video (1920x1080). Some (too dark) portions were a bit enhanced in contrast. At end of totality (see parts 9 and 10) the color contrast was enhanced to improve view of chromosphere and prominences.
Then all frames were downscaled to 1/3 of original resolution (640x360) and Copyright of the co-author Waltraud Kraußer-Blättner and frame number were inserted at lower left/right border.
After that procedure a GIF animation was produced out of the single frames to ensure playing by all browsers without need of proprietary video codec plugins (this, of course, has the disadvantage of not providing sound ...).
The built-in delay between frames is set to 40 ms which gives a maximum frame rate equal to the frame rate of the original video of 25 frames/sec (depending on capabilities and performance of Your browser and computer).

The actual visible size may be shrunk or blown-up - depending on width of Your browser window (size is set to 60% of window width).

Howto:
Click to image for viewing the 1/3 resolution version with frame size of 640x360 pixels. File sizes of all parts 1 .. 11 vary from ~16.9 to ~148.5 MB - You should have a good internet bandwidth to achieve a reasonable download time !
When the film has completed one whole loop and is starting over to the beginning again You may save it to Your hard disk because now it's already in Your browser's local cache. For saving to disk, please follow the procedures of Your favourite browser.
For viewing of downloaded film file You may use xanim or mplayer on Linux or other Unix-like systems. I'm sorry, I can't give You some advise for MAC or Winblow$ systems.
