It is the biggest radio telescope on earth - however it's
reflector isn't movable but is installed at the bottom of a
depression in the middle of Puerto Rico's karst region.
The diameter of the reflector (invisible in this picture)
amounts to app. 305 m / 1000 ft !!
The antenna carrier shown here is suspended by steel wires
at a height of app. 100 m / 330 ft above the reflector.
For comparison of sizes: the hanging down antenna dome which
is visible in this picture has a diameter of 27 m / 89 ft !
